That Buick light is wild, never seen one of those before. I wonder which Buicks they came on... I've got a buddy who knows Buicks really well, I'll have to ask him about them.

not a clue, but this is a high-end lamp. it's SAE rated.....maybe like a Riveria..:wtf2:...the Ford one's i saw were said to be for '90ish Escort GT's,but i can't find a picture with this size light.....they all seem to use the generic Bosch/Hella type sets.

i'm happy with for sure...got them and the covers for what a single NOS Ford lamp one goes for.....i had posted links when i was researching.

well fluted lense....it's my understanding the vintage Cibie lenses were leaded crystal.....perhaps before the buy out by Valeo in 1978.

this lense has an SAE rating. HR for high beam

this is the first light to use the H2 bulb. at that time it was the highest performance halogen bulb in existence.....and these bulbs need special "bulb holders" to place them in the housing

it's a German Narva H2 in the 55W flavor

i can't find these bulb-holders anywhere in the States.....only in Europe. i linked a sourse somewhere back a ways......i did remember to bookmark it though.

PS: yea, i know i bent the bulb base before figuring out to take it out of the "holder"......live and learn

these Cibie's have a 150mm lens, the KC's have a 145mm...the housings are quite different...here's a comparison of the two. the Oscar Plus was made to fit into narrower areas that the original Oscar couldn't fit into, it has a much more rounded back and is quite a bit deeper. the Oscar also uses an H1 bulb v. the Plus' H2. i'm thinking it's the way the filament has to be set to the glass.....but i'm not sure......the lenses are NOT interchangeable betwixt the Oscar and Oscar+........then you have the Super Oscar, which is as big as a Volkswagen.

i've never owned a round Cibie fog, driving or spot light. they actually make H4 lights for different uses....there's one version that has a hi/low beam and another version lamp that has fog and driving beam together, also uses an H4 bulb......Cibie's inventory is very vast, especially when you consider how long they've been around......if it wasn't for us the French would be speakin German, but they sure can build a light, LOL.

EDITED for grammar and content. the boxes are not correct to the lights. these are driving lights, hence the "HR" high beam designation on the front

"draw" on photobucket sucks......but on my setup the black horizontal bar i drew will be the Trans4mer receiver hitch, the white "circles"will be the Cibie's bolted to the top of the receiver and the yellow "circles" will be the KC's bolted to the Trans4mer grill guard.......my grill will be open to get plenty of air.

i won't have any lights where this gent has them...in this edited picture......this is what will happen in the final version i believe

i'm sure gonna have a hell-o-lotta lights in the front, ain't i?

EDIT: for those that haven't followed the whole thread, this "borrowed" picture is to show the Warn grill guard.....not many pictures of it on the interweb. the owner of the truck is from another forum and i'm using his picture for reference.....i've credited him somewhere in this never ending "book".

below are PDF files, for reference of the various components to the Warn Transformer grill guard unit. open them for a better understanding of what it is and how it is assembled.

it's about time you posted something. i was missing 'em. about the only thread i read.
where ya gonna put the Buick lights?

haha, sorry....i was resting up in Utica, upstate NY....hangin with my brother.

the buick lights will be going into the bumper airdam in the "stock" location just outboard of the tow hooks.....but they won't be facing forward like normal, they'll be on the same plane as the plastic valance.....kinda pointed more to the side......the bumper fogs will face forward.

i'm hoping to blend both fog light beams to make one really wide beam.

just a touch more "angled" than these. covers will stay on to be removed in real bad fog/weather. these will be hooked up the the rear red fog light......NOT FOR DESIGNER USE, LOL

see how these really face forward? i'm kinda thinkin mine will shine very wide...and that oddball shaped Buick lens should help
