he's right just take the plug from the coil with the white and pink, chop em off and put those little blade connections on them then you just pop em on the + and tach terminals in your cap
My first guess from experience would be a vacuum leak or o2 sensor. I've had the same problem in an f body with tbi and even when the egr was gone and the IAC already replaced and tps tested, the issue was still there. Hope that helps narrow it down
Yea unfortunately these trannies have an integrated bell housing so you have to drop it to do just about anything. I second the pilot bearing or throwout bearing. Mine had less than a quart of fluid in it and I never had a sound like that. They also are a bit notorious for gear rattle and bad...
Ok I know this may be a dumb question but can the oil leaking from my bad valve cover gasket onto the plug boots cause a misfire like this? I'm just trying to work from simple stuff first
So can anyone help me understand how a misfire can go from rare and hardly noticeable to consistent and irritating just by changing the cap and rotor on an hei? I'm stumped and don't see how new parts can make a problem worse. My truck was running pretty ok aside from an off idle hesitation...
For something like that I'd install the tbi unit to the nearest trash can and throw that 750 on the engine. It's only one sensor to keep the fuel pump running anyway. The distributor might not like it though so you may need to pick up an hei or something
Just got my truck back together with a rebuilt 355 and a Holley 650 using the stock pump. I have a 4.5-9psi regulator on there which is almost completely loosened and when I start the truck after about 30 seconds fuel will just start steadily dripping from the secondary boosters at idle. After...
thanks for the advice, this has taken longer than i ever thought even tho everyhing went great with the swap, started right up, then..surprise! engine has a rod knock..pulled the engine back out and found the crank and bearings were done. replacing that now but the tbi to carb went great at...
im pulling my engine due to a head gasket among other issues. i have a mildly built 400 small block that i'm putting in that's set up for a carb, i also have a holley 4 barrel to put on it. the engine is complete from the intake all the way to the accesories and hei distributor still attached to...
