Distributor help on TBI to carb swap

don't forget to leave the oil pressure sensor from the ecu, it needs that to keep the pump running after it primes

Distributor help on TBI to carb swap

he's right just take the plug from the coil with the white and pink, chop em off and put those little blade connections on them then you just pop em on the + and tach terminals in your cap

Occasional stalling when i put it in reverse

My first guess from experience would be a vacuum leak or o2 sensor. I've had the same problem in an f body with tbi and even when the egr was gone and the IAC already replaced and tps tested, the issue was still there. Hope that helps narrow it down

    91 TBI swap for a abc 400

I assume you're wanting to put a 400 in? Is it built or all stock? Are you trying to keep the tbi?

    89 manual loud as hell!

Yea unfortunately these trannies have an integrated bell housing so you have to drop it to do just about anything. I second the pilot bearing or throwout bearing. Mine had less than a quart of fluid in it and I never had a sound like that. They also are a bit notorious for gear rattle and bad...

    chasing down a misfire(carbed)

Ok I know this may be a dumb question but can the oil leaking from my bad valve cover gasket onto the plug boots cause a misfire like this? I'm just trying to work from simple stuff first

    chasing down a misfire(carbed)

So can anyone help me understand how a misfire can go from rare and hardly noticeable to consistent and irritating just by changing the cap and rotor on an hei? I'm stumped and don't see how new parts can make a problem worse. My truck was running pretty ok aside from an off idle hesitation...

    305 to hot 350 swap

For something like that I'd install the tbi unit to the nearest trash can and throw that 750 on the engine. It's only one sensor to keep the fuel pump running anyway. The distributor might not like it though so you may need to pick up an hei or something

    Smog delete

If you were willing to take off the smog equipment then why are you worried about the engine light? I assume you're truck is obd2?

    carb swap flooding

It is a bypass regulator so I don't burn out the pump haha. Problem solved, the float was stuck open, glad it was something simple

    carb swap flooding

Just got my truck back together with a rebuilt 355 and a Holley 650 using the stock pump. I have a 4.5-9psi regulator on there which is almost completely loosened and when I start the truck after about 30 seconds fuel will just start steadily dripping from the secondary boosters at idle. After...

Tow mirrors or no tow mirrors?

in my opinion, no tow mirrors. i always thought they look a bit too bulky, i'd go with the sportier mirrors anyday but as of now i have neither just stock 88-93 mirrors
