Thanks!!! Does the TBI alternator wiring plug into the 5.3 alternator? Or did you use 5.3 wring? I'll be making the custom standalone harness from the 5.3 harness according to lt1swap.com
Yes the tbi alternator plug did plug right in to the 5.3 alternator which was surprising. I did my harness myself also and chose to use a larger fuse block for future items.

That's also one of the things I'm confused about. Did you need the fuse block from the donor truck? Or how will I need to incorporate the 5.3 harness into the '95 fuse block if at all? Sorry for all the questions I just want to make sure I'm 100% prepared before diving in!

Oh your fine, ask away. Get all the info you can.

So you don't need the donor trucks battery Junction box/Fuse box... Unless your wanting to use it.

It's helpfull to remove the connectors from the donors fuse block (as opposed to cutting all the wires at once) so cut wires and keep track as you strip down/label the donor harness per lt1swap.com instructions. (painters tape and a marker to label wires works good)

Weather you use the little fuse block and relays like the lt1swap.com instructons use or go with another fuse block/panel it's going to be independent from the 95 fuse block.

Basically when the harness Is all striped of Un needed wires your going to have orange wires that need batt + (2 I think) and all the pink wires will be 12v switched(plus a Few others that need to be 12v switched) .

On my setup I found a empty spot on my 91 fuse box that was hot when the key was turned to run and crank.. So I ran a wire from there to my constant duty solenoid that feeds my new fuse panel. Or it can feed a relay if you use that little fuse block from lt1swap.com. That's about as integrated as the 2 get. You can find a power source in the 95 fuse box for your new obd2 connector also.

I dunno why that winking emoji is in there lol. Ask all The questions you need, I'll help as much as I can. I'm in the process of putting my build thread together so it might not be too helpfull yet

Gotcha. So all orange wires are constant 12v and all pink wires are switched 12v? That's helpful!

Original deal pulling my sisters engine fell through so i had to resort to craislist. The engine I'm picking up on Sunday doesn't have the harness but it's $200. I found a harness off car-part.com at a local junkyard for $100 and an ECU for $20 which is pretty good deals. So I don't have the donor truck to steal parts from but that should be about it for what I'd need anyway

Yep. Those lt1swap.com instructions are awesome so you'll get it knocked out. Good deal, just Save all the wire you strip from the harness, you'll use it to extend other wires in the engine bay + other wires you run into the cab(vss, dlc, tcc, tach etc...

Okay so the tach gets its signal from a wire coming from the ECU now right? And the transfer case VSS signal (also doing a 5 speed swap at the same time) should be spliced into the VSS wires from the 5.3 harness right?

A= coolant temp sensor, alt plug , oil press and alternator cable. I just fliped them up out of the way during the swap that's the main things you need from the tbi motor

B= fuel pump relay. I just attached the pcm fuel pump control wire here and am using the tbi relay to run the ep381

Exactly. Like you said you'll have a pcm output wire that is for your tach and the Vss from the T-case will go to the Vss wires on your 5.3 harness. The pcm will have a vss output also that will go to your cluster. I'm not sure if you can piggy back into the existing vss wires with the 5.3 harness vss wires or if you have to use the pcm output for the cluster to avoid 2 things using the T-case Vss directly (if it matters) if that makes sense

So did you guys take the whole harness out of the donor truck? Or just the engine harness? So far all I've pulled is the engine harness interior harness etc. Is all still in the donor truck.
