Got some more projects finished on the ol truck today. Installed a set of kicker 4" speakers in the front to replace the non working OEM speakers. They sound great for being so small. I also sanded and repainted the hood black. I started to paint the tops of the fenders as well but ran out of paint. Sorry no progress pics but i will take some when i get the hood back on, its still drying right now.

So next weekend ill be replacing the valve seals. The only other issue im having right now is my high idle. I suspected it was the TPS but it checks out fine with the volt meter with .46 volts at idle. I have already replaced the IAC valve with no change. It appears that the throttle blades shaft has some wobble and its causing the throttle plates to hang just before idle. Anyone else have experience with this? can i fix it or do i have to buy a new TB?

So far so good man! I can't wait to see it with the repainted hood on.

Here is what the tops of my fenders looked like before and after. I still have a ways to go on them. I ran out of paint and time for today. I think next weekend ill do the whole upper portion of the truck cause the roof and pillars are in poor shape.

Ouch on that tire. Hope it did not give you a wild ride when it blew.

Nice work on the hood. Did you use a single stage paint?

And are those 4 inch speakers sealed were you cannot see the speaker cone from the back side? If so then they will have great sound, if open then that is where they most likely will have a higher pitched sound. I speak from experience from years back when I had my first car and just hung the speakers under the dash with no box. Not the best in the west but as you pointed out in another thread better than without.

Tire blew going about 75 mph and i managed to get it stopped quick. The paint is actually just rustoleum spray. Next week i will be repainting the whole upper section with a gallon of rustoleum thinned down and rolled on with a paint roller. Then ill wet sand it and spray some clear on it. Used that technique on a buddys work van and it came out great and has stood the test of time.

As for the speakers yes the tweeters are sealed. They are actually factory speakers from a Chrysler 200 with the kicker stereo system upgrade. I think they sound pretty darn good, actually have alot more bass than what i was expecting.

Looks good.
Thanks. I think itll look great when I get done with the paint.

Got my new tire today. Took it and had it mounted and aligned. During the process had to replace both inner tie rod ends. Thanks to that blow I wont be able to buy more paint this weekend but I will be doing the valve seals.

Seems to be coming along nicely! I've always wanted to name a truck "Night Train" or "Night Prowler".
