I'm into my '98 for all of that. Probably more, 'cause when I stated on it, I never knew about this forum, so I was learning as I went along. Some things have been done 3X over! Like my suspension. Probably into that for better than 4.5G's alone! And the truck is far from done! Gonna re-do the interior this winter. $2000.00 in materials & my time. Then, sooner or later, an LS swap. Another $3-4000.00. I could always find more ways to spend $$$ if I want to! Some custom body work mods, HID's, Gear-Vendor's overdrive unit, more sound system upgrades, (already has about 1200 watts!) etc. etc. She's a money pit! Or...I'm an idiot! Too!
My '97 I'm into for around $6500.00, which I think is not too bad for a super reliable, decent looking, semi-custom DD. With NO payments! And better than 20mpg. (Imperial gallons)

Yeah, I've got $2500 in the transmission alone with 2 rebuilds. My lift and tires and wheels (and the parts replaced during), theres another $2500. Winch and bumpers, andother $2000. Purchase price of truck, $1000 lol. So after the purchase, the transmission woes, and the lift and bumpers, I've really only got about $3k in it. So its not bad looking at it like that lol.

Sad thing is it would probably blow up if you started it now. Well, I'd bet it at least leak sh*t everywhere.

That aside, I LOVE IT.

Oh, and I'm around $13k-$14k in mine....yes, I am an idiot.

Are you talking about the 454 or the truck in the original post? The truck in the OP they said they started the thing once a month so it ran. Which is good that they did that, the 454, I agree, the thing is probably junk now since it has sat for so long.

how did they get it out to take pics...and is that rust on the exhaust mani? sketchy lol looks clean though just not "brand new"

You can push things with your hands. Haha

And yes, there's humidity in the air. Something sitting for that long can easily just start rusting. That's what happens if you store a vehicle for a long time and don't take proper care of it. You can all see little specs of rust on the frame and what not.

Lmao, never sleeps and it's alllways hungry.

That 454SS with 8.2 miles.. man it doesn't look that good to me. Can see a lot of imperfections from a truck that should be "Brand New". Ah well, owner ed up storing that one

It's really a shame. If you're gonna store it for that long for whatever reason, atleast know how to and the right procedures to take to make sure it stays mint. It not, drive the damn thing. I couldn't see buying a brand new vehicle just to let it sit.

I don't understand why people buy cars and just collect them anyway. Like Jay Leno for example, I know all of those cars don't get driven.

Cars were built to be driven, Hot Wheels were built to be collected.
