having an air compressor for expeditions is paramount.
tires requiring 50 psi on the highway and 12 in the sand, as well as powering an emergency impact tool can make or break an isolated desert expedition

I went and got me this one here
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Campbell-Hausfeld-3-Gallon-Compressor/12534870

which works... at home... but it will not run from vehicle power (even with an inverter)... so I may be returning it...

what products have you used in this situation? im going to the dunes presidents day weekend and need help figuring out something dependable.

thanks!!

Air up and run any air tool you like.

With more time to put it all together, I would say convert your a/c compressor to an air compressor and run lines to a tube bumper.

Decent and cheap don't go together. Or everyone would have them. Had the a/c pump converted to an air compressor with lines run to my rear bumper on my Toyota years ago. Just turn on a/c and run vehicle. For the cost of some lines and fittings it isn't hard. I like my a/c too much though.

Don't forget the relief valve.

This x10 I used a junkyard york, and did everything myself and have less than 170 in my setup. And will run any air tool I wanted to all day!

Sent from the big block!

He wants to run air tools.

That's why I suggested an ARB. It can be set up with onboard tanks to make running tools easier. Many people use a lesser cheaper compressor to air up their tires So as not to put lots of wear and tear on their tool dedicated compressor.
