Tail light bulb

I was curious if anyone has replaced the standard 1157 tail light bulbs with LED replacements. If so, what type would be recommended.

You can only put LED's in the bottom taillight, & the reverse lights. Put one in the top position, & the fuse will blow as soon as you turn on the lights. Damn circuit boards!

You can cut the harness and use bulb sockets from an NBS truck directly wired up to bypass the circuit boards. I was gonna do that to run LEDs but i just bought a set of LED tails instead.

I have the circuit boards on my truck that use 3057 bulbs.

If OP has 1157, he has the separate plug style right? and won't have problems with LEDs?

88-89 trucks had circuit boards with 1157s.
