Shackle flip....

I was with a buddy today and he was doing a shackle flip on a olllllddddddBS chevy. I mean the springs were touching the hangers i was like THE .

Anyways to my current question....

Can't i just cut the rivets off of the shackle mounts and flip them from side to side and use a lowering shackle on it and that would work?

that should work but
the hanger flip kit keeps the shackle mount on the bottom side
if you flip the stock hangers it will move the mount to the top and basicly lower the truck. putting the drop shackle on might gain you 2" where a flip kit i think is 4"

I got a friend that fabs them from stock mounts so hell do it for me.

you use front hangers with the shackle as a flip

if you look close you can see thats what i did

yes to move the axle back as the flip will make it move forward a little, in my case i didnt need that as the front was dropped too
