Hey guys first time posting here so excuse me if this has been brought up before.

I decided to do the gasket on my rear diff on my 94 k1500 stepside, and like an idiot I didn't check to make sure the plug came out first... So I did the gasket and cleaned everything up and of course the plug didn't want to hear it. I tried for a while to get it out and all I got now is a stripped plug.

The big problem is that I'm away from home right now and have to drive 500+ miles tomorrow, and none of the tools available here to get that plug out.

So as a last resort I filled the differential through the vent tube. I got the 2 quarts in there just fine, it just took a long time.
So my question is, is there any unforeseen problem that I could run into because I filled it through the vent?
Thanks in advance for any answers I get.
