Possible to get stock muffler put back on?

I put a 3" thrush welded on my 96 RCSB 305 and liked it until it broke in and now it's wayy too loud for my liking. Everyone was correct about it having no drone at 55 but I live in town and just driving to school and back it's just annoying. It does drone like hell at about 1,600 RPM's. I got it welded on at a shop instead of just using cheap clamps. I still have the stock muffler that's in good shape so is it possible for them to take off the thrush and weld my old one back in? Thanks
