My truck does something similiar. My dad replaced the fuel filter before. And its basically new. When I go up a hill, I have barely any power. And the RPMS barely go up to 3000 rpm. But the truck idles 100%. Any ideas?

Add some specs about your truck in your signature so you don't have to state what your driving. (Helps us help you when troubleshooting between different years/engines/trans etc.)

My mechanic said it could be my headers (they're rusted out and I have a total of 2 leaks) plus my exhaust is next. Something about an obo or something? He said stock manifolds would be better than new headers since its not a built motor....any input?

IMO headers > manifolds, built motor or not.
