For my fellow gear heads you know what this is and how hard it is to find a 2WD 700R4, but I found one today. I got to drive the truck it was in before they pulled it. Anything else i should do with it other than fluid gasket and filter? Not going to be used for high performance.

@Chefman43223 - Install a Transgo 700R4 Jr shift kit, .472 boost valve / .300 reverse boost valve and sonnax tv plunger and sleeve kit. Also, make aboslutly sure you set and adjust your TV cable correctly (buy a new cable if yours is worn).

See my 700R4 info thread for more details - reply here or there with any questions.

Last model year was 93, perhaps a few made it into some vehicles in 94 but to my knowledge there's no official 1994 model year entry for the 700R4/4L60...First was '82. They're getting harder to find but not nearly as difficult as a 200-4R, esp a high perf variant.

I had all ways read that 93 4l60e for trucks vans and 94 4l60 for f-body and corvette and maybe other rwd cars maybe I had read bad info
The f-bodies, vettes, caprice and other pass cars all had 700R4s in 93. They all officially transitioned to the 4L60E in 94. Though i wouldnt be surprised to learn there were some stragglers but have never seen or heard of any. I own a 96
WS6 so im always in the junk yards looking for parts for it or transmission cores and certain parts like governors (particularly 700R4s) and never seen a 700/4L60 in anything newer than 1993, FWIW.

I just picked up a Buick 300 v8 with aluminum heads hooked to a 200r4 and I have a 4v intake for the 300 Buick. Going into my 23 Ford c cab pick up to replace the 283 and glide

Drive it to see how it shifts and such but if that engine's been rebuilt or modded to put out more than about 250HP or so, you'll likely need to do some mechanical re-cal work to get the trans to shift/thrive behind that engine.

I also know need to make sure the old rubber ring off the filter is removed. Sometimes they get stuck. Thoughts on the Corvette servo?
