I've been cocky about charging my A/C every spring and it getting me through till the winter. Not so this summer. I leaked out within two months. Fortunately, the last time it was charged, they dyed it so I was able to find some with a UV light. The leak APPEARS to be the compressor; I found dye all around and underneath the compressor body. I'd say that's the culprit.
So, what am I looking at to replace it? Is it straightforward? I've seen a kit with oil and seals. Is that what I'd need?

Any input is appreciated. It's hot as hell down here.

I just replaced mine for the same reason. Compressor body leaking between front and rear caps. Bought a new compressor from ROCKAUTO.com for 200.00.
