It could be pulling coolant from the crossover thru a cracked portion of the intake gasket into the intake port of #2 causing a miss. I wouldn't wait to have issues with original gasket change them out with the felpro metal backed ones.

Do you have a link to the gaskets you'e talking about? Not sure if I'm finding the right ones

If you haven't upgraded the spider grab a AC/Delco or Delfi unit (Amazon has them) while your in there, Do you have a way to set the cam retard after you put the distributor back in?

Take a look at the distributor gear while you have it out i just went ahead and replaced the whole distributor with one of the metal ones on ebay.
