Been debating on getting some different mirrors for my 98, need some help with deciding.

    Options:
-Stock color matched mirrors (still currently have them)
    DSC01556.JPG (from 2016)

-Dumbo/Pedestal color matched mirrors ($60 from 1A Auto)
[IMG] (pic of a 94 mark iii from google)

-GMT800 style tow mirrors (already have on the truck)
    IMG_1509 - Copy.JPG

-2015+ K2xx style tow mirrors w/ color matched caps ($230 from Boost Auto)
    [IMG](pic from 1a auto)

I have recently put my cab spoiler/fairing back on and I don't know if it's connecting with the current tow mirrors I have. The tows are slightly an eyesore for me, I would think the new style would look much better, but just can't decide.

I like your color matched stock 95+ set. I've never been a fan of tow mirrors, and the older dumbo mirrors look wrong with the '94+ grilles to me.

I agree with this unless you are towing a lot. Tow mirrors without use is heading for brodozer zone.

"Brodozer" lol, the only thing I tow is a JD garden tractor a couple times a week, but the 97 has pretty much taken over that job, so it pretty much doesn't tow a whole lot anymore.

I'm starting to make this a 90s show truck sort of, and yeah I think the stock mirrors would fit the build better than the tows. My vent shades are already starting to come off because of the terrible tape AVS used, I'll be re-taping those tomorrow with the better 3M double stick tape. While I have those off I will put the stock mirrors back on and see how they look.

Swapped in the mirrors yesterday and it does actually look better and flow better with what I am doing. I might get a pic in today. Thanks for the help guys and the people who voted, I really appreciate it! :)

I made a cardboard template of both mirrors GMC and Dodge, then placed the dodge mirror template over where the stock GMC mirror would be when mounted on the truck, that way I could move the Dodge template to get it to fit the best because you will have to inlarge or relocate the holes for the Dodge mirror to mount on the GMC door. the studs on the Dodge mirror are long so I used spacers [3] made out of 1/2'' pex plumbing pipe/tubing, about 3/4 to 1'' long, and fender washers on top of the tubing, then the nuts. Once you get the nuts started, and mirror is just hanging by the nuts, you need a few pieces of foam gasket materials to fill two small gaps that are there because of the shape of the Dodge mounting flange, tighten the nuts and the gasket material will squish out, trim excess with a box cutter. You can see the gasket materials, trimmed, in my pictures. Not counting time to remove door panels, etc, it took me about 15 minutes to install the first mirror and like 10 for the second.

NOTE: I didn't use the Dodge baseplates, that came with the kit, or any plate.
