I have a 1995 2wd extended cab with the 5.7 vortec and 4l60e, I was wondering if I will need a new driveshaft and cross-member if I install a nv4500 in place of the 4l60e. I want to avoid having to get a new driveshaft if possible. I'm not pushing any real power so the nv3500 isn't out of the question either.

Unless it is out of the exact same truck as yours body style wise, you will need a new driveshaft. The cross member is easy enough to move and locate new mounting holes in the frame.

If you go with the NV4500 then prolly will need d/s as the joints are different. Not sure on the 3500. Crossmember think just needs to be moved. I don't mess with 2wd's much anymore lol...hopefully someone with good info will chime in..,,
