how easy is it to swap a 350 for a diesl in a 96 Z-71

If you have a donor truck then not that hard, but you need pretty much everything.

A diesel that is meant to go in the truck or one from a different generation/make? You really need to give more info to get a good response.

yeah.... I had looked at swapping a 6.5 into my 97 and it would have been pretty straight forward but you would need a ton of parts and the very best way to have everything would be a donor truck. I've been half assed looking at a max/alli swap but i doubt the 1/2 frame will support it nicely

how easy is it..? Well that depends on your mechanical experience, and the availability of parts, you pretty much need a donor truck for this to be easy...I've done a swap the opposite way(6.5 to 5.7) before...took about 2 days, with a complete donor truck, and the right tools..
