can some one explain to me how to shut the emails off? ive tried and I still get emails...

Same here

Settings (top right)>General settings (left side bar)>under "messaging and notification" set your default thread subscription mode to "through my control panel only". That worked for me.

I get email "updates" to subscribed threads literally a week after it was actually updated.

This is the only forum it happens to me on, and I am a member of many. Surely this is an easy fix.

I've been getting emails non-stop since Tuesday and I've been having repeats of repeats of repeats from practically when I joined and even a few recent posts why is that
