Crank shaft position sensor help

Hey y’all, gonna swap out my crankshaft position sensor, got a p0336 code. Reading different things though. Some say I beed Shims, some say pop old out and new in, some say there is a relearn process. Who has done what. lol. Thanks. 99 k2500 5.7

Here’s the diagnostic for the code on a 1998, it’s probably the same for the 99 carryover but no guarantee. Maybe it will help.
