I've always used Purple Power(Power Clean). Does wonders on grease but make sure you dilute it on critical items. I use my compressor and a blow gun with a syphon hose attached leading to a bucket with water. Spray the engine with the degreaser let it sit for a while and then shoot it with the blow gun. Easier and safer than rinsing it off with the water hose. Depending on how dirty your engine bay is use your going to dilute the degreaser accordingly.

Ive always gone with engine degreaser and coin operated car wash. If you use the car wash' own degreaser while your there, I find the results are pretty amazing. You obviously gotta be careful not to hose of any electrical for too long, but Ive never killed a car in a car wash.
