Bed Notch Frame with Stock Fenderwells?

Anyone have a set up like this? I have stock fenderwells but want to put in a step notch cover in the middle. Wanted to see how it looks.

That's about the right idea, but my bed floor isn't raised yet (wish it was). What was the width measurement of that though?

The opening on my bed was 26"x49". I. Just got a sheet of 16 guage steel and the width fit almost prefect i had to get a 1" strip of stock to fill in one side. The peace of steel was 8'x4' I cut it i think 32" and then took it to my job and bent it on a 4' break that we have and then after I got it welded in cut off the excess underneath.
