I hear you, I just recently shaved another set of drip rail's on another crew cab for a customer and it looked awesome!

Where is the drip rail? im gonna take a step in the dark. Since you guys are talking about the older trucks, is it the molding on top of the window?

Small update , Finally got motivated to dye the console out of my old 98 and put it in today.....well actully I sold my factory console and it sucked driving it with all my stuff on the passanger seat, but thats neither here nor there. Anyway some pics

THe Escalade console had an opening for the rear seat radio thing which I didnt have so I just cut some diamond plate out and painted it black , still not sure what I'm gonna do with the smaller holes ,

This is the part where I did get motivated , since I was dont with the console fairly early (around 930-10) I decided it was time to do my annual wash-claybar-wax ,followed by some decent pics , (I got a little carried away with the tire shine ) then I drank beer which ended any futher motivation

Edit:dev I used that turtle wax black box , you think it would be ok on the tails ?
