'94 Blower fan speed

I was "told" that the '94 had a 4 speed blower setting. But I have found on my search of '94's at junk yards are the 3 speed. I check it by shining a flashlight on the face of the control.

That won't tell you anything. The four speed units show speeds 2 and 3 as low/med, and med/hi respectively. All 94s and some 93s are 4 speed. The best way to tell is to look behind the glove box and see if there are 3 or 4 relays on the heater box. 3=3 speed system, 4=4... ALL 88-94 use the same screens.

Do the 3 and 4 speed fans both use the same blower wheel and motor? To me, high speed on both would be the same cfm if it’s getting 12V. Four speed would just give an extra interim (lower) setting.

As far as I'm aware, yes they use the same blower. The only discernible difference between the two systems is the four speed has an extra relay and extra resistor in the pack.
