Truck had rough idle and misfire while driving and shifting issues.
I moved the distributor counterclockwise as far as it would go. Ran a lot better, no more misfire and shifting nearly perfect.
Got the car gauge pro app and a blue tooth adapter and checked the timing because I still have knock sensor and cam sensor codes. The car gauge pro said it was still -11° out.
I pulled the distributor to move it a tooth and because it wouldn't seat all the way down I ended up losing track. I pull and replaced at least 15 times to get it back running good and no the timing says -22°. My brother said to have someone bump the starter and the distributor would drop into the spot I wanted. So can anyone tell me which direction to move my rotor to get away from the -°?
And can I trust the Car Gauge Pro app?
Thank you

Never used the gauge pro thingy but i know vortecs are really picky with timing. Maybe start from scratch with DTC and pointing distributor

FWIW if the gear is worn you may never get better than 11. I couldn't get better than 29 when mine was worn.
