1999 HVAC questions

I have a 1999 suburban c1500 that just wont get off of the defrost vents. the control panel switch assembly is 130 on rock auto and I want to make sure that is the issue before I go blowing money. is there a way to ohm out the switch to see if it is good? and what is the easiest way to access the blend door that would control moving from vent to defrost..... no matter where I move the blend switch it only blows out of the defrost vent....no matter whether heat or A/C is on .....please help me on this its the wifes vehicle and been dealing with 110 heat index i am as I'm sure you can imagine, getting nagged at this every day lol


also has anyone uploaded the FSM for this vehicle on the web anywhere? if so anybody got a link?

For a repair manual, take a look at alldatadiy.com for their subscription-based service. It's $26/yr and has the diagnostic information that you may be looking for. I think it's based on the FSM, but am not sure. The link below has the same information as alldata, but the format is kind of hard to navigate...
