1997 to 1998 vortec computers and wiring harness

ok i have a 1998 chevy 4.3 engine and wiring harness and computer and and fuel system out of a 1998 chevy truck. i would like to start the engine on a test stand . but i herd the 1998 computer has anti theft system? and i have 1997 4.3 computer out of a astor. i hared the 1997 computer don't have anti theft system? but i haerd the 1997 computer won't work with the 1998 wiring harness? it their any to run the engine ?
