1996 tahoe hardstart

My 1996 tahoe has a hard start but no check engine light, usually if it sits over night it fires up but if i drive it and let it sit for 3 hours i go to fire it up it hard starts

Define starts hard. Does it turn over slow? Cranks for a bit then starts?

What is the fuel pressure when it's cranking but won't start?

How long has it been since it's had typical "tune-up" services? Plugs, plug wires, cap 'n' rotor, fuel filter, air filter. Do the glow-plugs work?

Connect a scan tool, look at the data stream. Find out what the computer is trying to tell you.
