(I think this is the 4L80e) The transmission has been operating normally - no slipping, no noises, shifting is smooth. From out of nowhere, it decided not to shift into 3rd. Immediately prior to this, my hubby had installed a new cigarette lighter using the existing wires. When he installed it, he blew the fuse to that circuit a couple times. After getting it installed & it was working normally (the cigarette lighter), the trans immediately quit shifting into 3rd... We've checked all fuses in the fuse box, and nothing is blown. We're just wondering if this could be something simple that he could track down, before we resort to taking it into the shop.
One unusual thing it did do a couple times was when I put it in park, it acted like it was in neutral. I moved the shifter to drive, then back to park & it would be right.
Just wanted to add that this trans was rebuilt approximately 22,000 miles ago (not by us - the previous owner who was a mechanic).
