1988 Chevy k1500 everything that works with key off works but nothing that works on the will work

Test the ign switch. Are you getting power from it in the on position? I would start there and work your way down.

Not the lock cylinder, the ignition switch itself. The cylinder has nothing to do with the ignition switch other then a rod that actuates the switch.

This piece on topside of the column further down under the dash.

Anyway you could gimme a link or tell me how to test that I located it but am unsure how to test it
