Everything looks really good! You are very skilled. Nice job reconstructing that thing back from the dead. Those discs should be a huge improvement!

Finally Doing It! 1999 K3500 Crew Cab SAS Build Up Project

I got about 5.5 inches of front lift between the Fabworx bracketry and the 2.5" skyjacker springs. Should settle out a little. The rear add a leafs yielded about 2 inches and coupled with factory blocks. It rides pretty decent right now. New shocks for the front should show up sometime today...

Finally Doing It! 1999 K3500 Crew Cab SAS Build Up Project

Not a problem and thank you. Finding these trucks in good condition I just about impossible. They are literally worth their weight in gold when you do track me down. Anyways, Getting the axle was the hardest part for me. Had to drive about 14 hours to go pick it up. Was well worth the trip. Most...

Pitman arm and crossover steering was made by Chassis Unlimited, Livermore CA. Good products from that place. Im estimating the front lift was around 5.5". Kind of took a few pictures this morning. Need to get some on my real camera as phone pictures from a blackberry are kind of a tease. New...

Finally Doing It! 1999 K3500 Crew Cab SAS Build Up Project

Drove the truck yesterday for the first time and took it down to breakfast this morning on the highway got it up to 75 MPH for testing purposes. Normally I do about 65 Max. It rides very well, better than I initially anticipated and Daniel was spot on with his above post. I wouldn't change a...

Finally Doing It! 1999 K3500 Crew Cab SAS Build Up Project

I looked into it a little more, The stock driveshaft completly binds up at full droop. The front has about 10 inches of travel, way more than that factory shaft was designed for.. Good suggestion on changing the yoke. Ill have to go to the drivline specialist and see what they think, might just...

Finally Doing It! 1999 K3500 Crew Cab SAS Build Up Project

Thank you yeah post up pictures if you would. I have the offset 0RD zero rates actually. I'm just debating wether or not its necessary. After looking at the pictures from the last post I realized I installed my rear shackles backwards They are suppose to be offset for 36.5" spring width, damn...

Finally Doing It! 1999 K3500 Crew Cab SAS Build Up Project

Thank you! Yes I started today on grinding/cutting it off. Wont be removing the UCA mounts or shock tower until I see how I can run a set of shocks up front. Might need to utilize one of those mounts!

Finally Doing It! 1999 K3500 Crew Cab SAS Build Up Project

Better late then never. Got the truck back outside this morning and torqued all the leaf spring bolts and u bolts down to specs. Spent all day dealing with exhaust and driveshaft fitment. Need to go pickup another pipe expander in the morning so I can finish that. The 454 is stupid loud with...

Finally Doing It! 1999 K3500 Crew Cab SAS Build Up Project

UPDATE Good progress today. The truck is back on its own front wheels to say the least. Took it off jack stands around 9:00 PM Sunday. I just completed a full brake system flush and bleed. Pictures to come in the morning hours. Almost out of beer so that will be the first priority in the...

Finally Doing It! 1999 K3500 Crew Cab SAS Build Up Project

UPDATE Despite good progress in the morning hours, this afternoon went painfully slow. Had to go track down some class 10.9 metric fasteners as the factory bumper bracket bolts were too short. The fabworx bracketry fit extremely tight and very close tolerance to the frame. Ended up getting...

Finally Doing It! 1999 K3500 Crew Cab SAS Build Up Project

MID DAY UPDATE Got a nice early start this morning. Rolled the truck in the garage (kind of) and put it on stands. Dad came to help which is pretty awesome I must say. By utilizing his knowledge and skills it will make this project go a whole that smoother and make it something special. I...

Finally Doing It! 1999 K3500 Crew Cab SAS Build Up Project

Thanks for the compliments guys. Started mocking a few things up today and picked up a cross member to replace the torsion bar cross member once its out. One problem I already ran into is the leaf spring bushings are a 1/2" too wide to fit into my hangers and shackles. So I ended up cutting them...

Finally Doing It! 1999 K3500 Crew Cab SAS Build Up Project

Good Day, With the long holiday weekend upon us I figured it would be a great time to make the executive decision to start on my solid axle swap on the crew cab. The parts collection has been in the works for some weeks now. Boxes have been showing up daily and after getting to know my...

    crew cab sub box

Im new on this board so I will try to help out the best I can. This is what I have in my 99 OBS Crewcab. I kind of screwed up on my dimensions so it doesn't really fit perfect like I wanted. The floor of the truck tapers up at an angle towards the rear of the cab which I did not take into...
