    Dash light dimmer switch issues

The ohms test sounds correct to.me. However, I did get a.third switch that was used for free and that worked. I still plan to.try this test and compare the working and non-stop ing switches. On another note, there is some LED's that dim. I.know this because I have some.

    Dash light dimmer switch issues

But I have two different dimmers that don't dim. I was hoping there was some kind of test to run on the dinner to verify, otherwise I feel like I am throwing money at with Hope's a new one fixes the issue.

    Dash light dimmer switch issues

This is not due to the LED's. I put the stock lights back in and still dimmer only works as off or on, with no dimmer.Back to my original question, does anyone know how to troubleshoot this? Is there a way to test the dimmer switch?

    Dash light dimmer switch issues

My 1989 chevy K2500 dimmer switch only works as on or off, does not dim. I first thought that I did this when adding LED dash lights, but I notice the heater control does not dim either. Does anyone have any advice to troubleshoot this issue? Is there a way to test the dimmer switch? I don't...

    Blowing dash light fuse

Does anyone have the wiring diagram for this fuse? Also, it would be nice to know exactly what is on this circuit so I could disconnect each thing, one at a time to allow me to narrow the search down.

    Cat or no Cat?

That doesn't look like what I have, so probably someone already swapped it out and put a honeycomb style in there.

    Blowing dash light fuse

My 5 amp dash light is blowing. I am sure it must be something I did, but problem is, I did so much. Anyone know where to start troubleshooting this?

    Cat or no Cat?

Regarding the pellet style cat you mentioned, is that what GM used in 1989? If they lose pellets, wouldn't that make them less restrictive?

    Cat or no Cat?

I went dual exhaust off of headers with no cats on my 82 vette that a shop did here locally.

    Cat or no Cat?

I am sure it is illegal. I don't have any inspection requirements here. Not saying that it's not illegal, just not governed by the state. O2 sensor is only before the cat

    Cat or no Cat?

The Cat doesn't seem that old, but when I drive the truck, it seems restricted and very quiet....like too quiet, makes me think the cat is clogged or something.

    Cat or no Cat?

I take some of that back. It looks like there is 3.00" pipe all the way back to the muffler and then the muffler has two smaller pipes coming out. It kind of seems the Y pipe may be a bit restrictive at the bends, not sure.

    Cat or no Cat?

My 1989 K2500 seems sluggish where I am wondering if the cat is plugged somewhat. I notice eveything before the cat is 3.00" diameter and after is something much smaller, so I was thinking if I am going to start putting time and money on that subject, I might as well just change all the pipe to...

    Engine codes

Update: I replaced the knock sensor and now I don't have any engine codes triggered. I did do some testing before replacing it. I couldn't get any AC voltage to read when through the sensor when tapping the sensor. Also I back probed the same wire at the other end where it goes into the ESC and...

    Engine codes

It appears the code 33 has been fixed. I noticed the egr valve was not working at all. I took it off and pushed the diaphragm in and plugged the vacuum port. The diaphragm did not hole at all. I put a new one on and it looks like it fixed that code. I thought it was weird that code 33 was due to...

    Engine codes

Yes, I did unplug the timing wire when I set the timing at zero, then plugged it back in and reset computer. Any advice on buying a scanning tool for this OBD1 truck to get started on the other recommendations?

    Engine codes

Also, isn't a scanner tool just going to tell me what the voltage outputs are? If there is not correct vacuum input, then how would using a scanner tell me if it is a bad MAP sensor if the vacuum was not correct going into the MAP sensor? I am a newbie on all of this, but it just seems logical...

    Engine codes

The 5.7 engine heads that came off the original engine were rebuilt but similar to stock. The cam is the original cam from the 5.7 Engine as well. The history on this engine is that the original 5.7 crank shaft broke and thrashed the block, so we took the top end off the 5.7 original engine and...

    Engine codes

Does anyone have any advice on test procedures? What should the vacuum read at the map sensor? Would I have to stretch a vacuum hose all the way to inside the truck to get the reading during highway driving?

    Engine codes

Hello, I am new to this site. I have a 1989 K2500. Stock engine is a 5.7. I replaced the lower end with a 327 that appeared to be built. I had the stock heads rebuilt and cam is stock. Engine light was on before engine swap and don't know the history of that issue. After engine swap I am...
