    NV3500 Shifting Issues

Yep...:( Before I got it rebuilt, my initial thought was to just pull another cheap manual trans from a junkyard to see if felt any different, but I decided to get it rebuilt - might not have been the right choice. idk. I'm out of town right now, but when I get back I'm gonna try one more...

    NV3500 Shifting Issues

Yep, you're on to something here, on multiple grounds. I drove my truck over to a trans specialist in the early fall of last year, and he saw my short throw shifter, and concluded that at least PART of my problem was the shifter itself. I agree with him only in the sense that the shifter was...

90 GMC Sierra1500 SLE Shortbed Stepside shocks

Yep I second the Bilstein 4600s. I'm running them on my 88' k1500 and I'm lovin' em.

Does anyone know of a replacement armrest?

Yeah man those particular arm rests are difficult to track down. My suggestion would be to go to the junkyard and find a good one, and then check LMC and other sites for the colorbond interior paint corresponding to your specific year. That's if you can't find one that's grey like yours. I...

Resto - Mode L29 setup...and living in Poland

Hey WojTec, My first thought when reading your post was, "what are emissions laws like in Poland?" So I'm originally from Missouri, but I'm finishing my truck up and taking it to California soon, and I had to learn pretty quick that emissions laws are VERY different in Missouri vs California...

    NV3500 Shifting Issues

I've got a random question for you folks (just trying to look at all possible angles..) - have you ever bought a pre-bled clutch master/slave system that still required further bleeding?

    89 700r4 upgrade

Hell yeah man - I'm loving the EBL Flash system. If you're new to tuning and engine building it can be steep learning curve, but it's SOO worth it in the end.

    89 700r4 upgrade

Are you using the EBL tuning software as well?

Woah I never would've thought of that - that's something I might investigate. Thanks for the suggestion

    89 700r4 upgrade

Yeah considering it had the 700r4, the only control the computer would be looking to achieve would be the TCC. And yep, in his case, the VSS is located in the transfer case, so nothing wrong there. But there will be idle RPM differences, and also spark advance differences in the PROM. Not...

    Lifters gave error code

Yeah removing the heads is a bit of a pain(lost coolant, need to buy new head gaskets, new head bolts, etc), but I would do it just for the peace of mind. It'll help you get a better look at possible damage. You could even drain the oil, or open up the oil pan to see if there was any damage...

ECM / PROM Chip for 95 350 swap

What I would personally do is go to the junkyard and find a 1995 c1500 5.7L truck and pull the computer from that. Pretty simple to do - pull the glove box out and there it is. GM trucks started using the 4l60e around 1993, so I would at least start there. You don't want anything after 1995...

    92 C1500 automatic to manual.

Yeah as others have mentioned, there are differences in the PROMs for the manual and auto trucks. I have the EBL tuning system, so I did my own custom tune. What I'd advise you to do is just go to the junkyard, and pull a computer from 92 c1500 or similar year(88-94 will do, but I'd hunt hard...

    89 700r4 upgrade

Yep, the auto to manual swap is definitely doable. I actually did one on my 88' GMC k1500. So it really all depends on how much you want a manual. If you just kinda want one, I might look at getting the rebuilt auto. It's a lot easier. But if you LOVE manual cars and trucks like I do, and...

    My first nv3500 swap

Yeah, things started changing around 96' for the GM trucks. 1). So with the driveshaft, I would mainly be concerned with the overall length, the diameter of the u-joint bearings, and the splines going into the transfer case. Of course you know you'll need the 32 spline slip yoke, and you...

Would this trans be identifiable as likely nv3500

Yeah $150 in 2024 is actually a pretty good deal. I've been going to boneyards for like 13 years now, and I've been seeing more a more people in there(even with their wives!) pulling parts, cause' times are tough out there. I've also noticed that boneyards having been jacking up the prices...

    Tbi fuel pressure

Yeah this could be a myriad of things. Like PlayingWithTBI mentioned, if you're not building oil pressure quickly enough, or the oil pressure switch is faulty, it could either delay starting, or not start at all. Personally I would look at things like dirty fuel filter, fuel pump, maybe even...

    NV3500 Shifting Issues

Yeah I initially tried a bunch of different fluids since that was the easiest thing to do(Penzoil synchromesh, amsoil 5w30 manual transmission fluid, royal purple synchromax, and GM synchromesh). The best result for me was the AC Delco GM synchromesh stuff, which is priceeeeeyyyy. The royal...

    NV3500 Shifting Issues

Yeah I've been through a bunch of different slave/master cylinder combinations, and eventually opted for the pre-bled system you just install without having to bleed it at all. The pre-bled system seems to be the best in terms of pedal stiffness. I talked to a trans rebuilder and he had me...

    Tbi fuel pressure

I can say that for mine, it only held pressure for a few seconds. I actually put an adjustable fuel pressure regulator on, along with a gauge. If you turn the key on, you can hear the fuel pump come on for a few seconds, and then it shuts off, along with the fuel pressure, until you turn the...

    NV3500 Shifting Issues

Hey everyone, So I've got an issue here that seems to have stumped myself, and the rest of the world along with it - but I'll go ahead and post about it anyway lol. I have a recently rebuilt NV3500 trans(1995) going into a k1500 4x4 pickup, and for some reason, it seems to temporarily block my...

    Core-Shifter or OEM?

I had a core shifter and it worked pretty great. Shorter throw, the left-to-right slop was eliminated, and it looked a helluva lot cooler, especially if you have other custom mods on the truck to add to it. It's the cherry on top. A little pricey, but it makes it a little more fun to drive.
