Well Iv looked at it and it does have a 4l60e I belive they started using them in 92? But the 96 is the year they started using the removable bell housing. So I don't know if all of the frame mounts and electrical connections would match up.- Tyler Rude

Hey guys! Iv got a 96 Tahoe 4x4 with a 4l60e that's shot. I found a 92 suburban 4x4 on graigslist with a good tranny. And I was wandering if it'd fit in my Tahoe??? How much extra work it'd be, ect...- Tyler Rude

No reverse???
Does anyone have some info? I have a 96 Tahoe 4x4, 5.7 vortec, with a 4l60e I belive, and right at 87,000 miles. And its been shifting fine except when I drive for more than an hour or so it starts shifting really hard. I checked the fluid and it was really high so I pumped about a quart out so...- Tyler Rude
