    Knock up top?

I personally don’t think it’s bottom end, it doesn’t increase and decrease with engine rpms correctly enough to correlate bottom end with me. I’ve already sold the owner a 350 vortec block for $100 so all else he’s got a block ready for cleaning and heads up. Owner thinks it’s a bent pushrod and...

    Knock up top?

I considered the torque converter/ flex plate since it’s sorta delayed? after blipping throttle. The truck does have an exhaust leak at the joint under passenger door. Work on getting that fixed and see if I can narrow down the noises. By grounding the spark? what do you mean how do I go about...

    Knock up top?

1997 GMC k2500 5.7L Not my vehicle, just working on it. After tracing wires and tinkering finally got the truck running but it had an atrocious knock/tick. Requested rockers be tightened, I did so, truck wouldn’t start? Loosened rockers(my choice) around 3/8 of a turn and truck fired right up...

Mystery pigtail brown and brown/white stripe

No idea. Truck fired right up no issues previously. Revved up fine idled fine etc other thank noisy top end. Owner asked to tighten rockers(I didn’t remove valve covers owner did) so I did so. Finished up ignition and now truck won’t start. Throwing code po108, replaced map sensor still doesn’t...

Mystery pigtail brown and brown/white stripe

I don’t have a very advanced scanner at my access. It only shows codes. I’ll try to just loosen the valves and start over tomorrow and assume this ones actually my fault. I’m not positive how a valve job turned into map sensor error. The truck ran before valves, but had clattering and had to be...

Mystery pigtail brown and brown/white stripe

Truck continuing to run rough, smooths put with throttle but no completely, backfires, misses etc. replaced map and still get code po108. Unplug map while running and get po107. Faulty new map sensor? Or do I just need to bite the bullet and back off the valves some?

Mystery pigtail brown and brown/white stripe

The truck did run fine prior to valve adjustment, but I didn’t remove anything the valve covers were already removed. I’ll get the intake back on to try and remove the codes

Everythint there is plugged in, the map is a new code. Could that cause the running rough and smells like fuel

The air filter and intake tube were off the engine at the time, I know the maf is in that and was unplugged along with the other sensor in the intake tube. Where is the MAP located on this engine?

Mystery pigtail brown and brown/white stripe

Alright it’s the same as that other thread has. I’m going to assume this is missing on this truck. I didn’t remove it. Does it have anything to do with running rough? I jumped 12v to pink wire in ignition switch to fire the truck and it sputters a little and if you just breathe on the throttle...

Mystery pigtail brown and brown/white stripe

Checked on his other truck, 1998 k1500 and that pigtail is non existent. I guess I can rest assured it’s not too important? I get to replace an ignition switch and harness tomorrow so hopefully you can start it with the key after.

“Customer Vehicle” I’m not a mechanic lol 1997 GMC K2500 5.7L This truck was brought to me for a crank no start, I found the ignition switch bad got it running. Tightened up some valves(covers were already removed) after reassembly there’s a two wire pigtail resting on top of the passenger side...
