Can't figure out backfire through throttle body

Just recently picked up this 1995 chevy c1500 5.0, and i've been struggling with this backfiring issue i cant seem to pin point the issue. I've put a new distributer in and timed it. Any help would be appreciated

Oil burning on start up

Trying to figure out what tire will fit without lifting

Sorry for a dumb question but I got a stock height 98 k2500 and I’m trying to figure out if I can clear 285/75/16 with out needing a lift of any kind or if there’s any other suggestions for sizes to fill the wheel well nicely. It’s got 265/70/16 on it now
