    '99 c2500 Burb fun

Well, looks like the rear billsteins 24-024235 are out of stock for the most part. Anyone in love with anything else? I think I’ve run Monroe gas magnums before on the old R20 and they were “okay” but I do really like the billsteins I put on the Roadmaster.

The Official Vortec 454 Info thread

That's a cool truck, I think it's going to come together nicely. I did notice the CV boots on front are cracked, so you could add that to any list you've got going. Sorry if someone already mentioned those. Keep us posted on how this goes!

    '99 c2500 Burb fun

Wow, I'm actually really surprised about that. I feel like I've been around GM stuff quite a bit and nothing should surprise me, but ... this is new.

Yep - shoulda asked! Good to know though, I’ll remember it Next time I’m looking at something like that. Thoughts on the shocks appreciated too.

    '99 c2500 Burb fun

Hi all, I'm working on the next set of to-do things as the weather gets more stable. I got the old window visors off the truck (passenger side still had them partially attached with 3m double-side adhesive, driver side had tape residue). That was a pain, lots of goo gone and lots of patience...

    '98 Suburban K2500 454ci

I like the truck - that two tone looks great on these things. I always like how the 4x4s sit a bit more level than the 3/4 ton 2wd like mine. Keep after it, I'm really starting to appreciate how nice these trucks are.

    Gmt400 Escalade

Right - I feel the same and all the more so when I drive the Roadmaster because parts are even harder to find if the body takes a hit. I always feel like that old wagon is one hit away from being totaled out on the spot. I'm slightly more hopeful with the 400s, it seems like body repair parts...

Sorry, I hope this works out - a great truck and so well taken care of too.

    That didn’t last long….

Oh my goodness yes. My '90 square body 'burb. And I'd throw an Impala SS on that list too (96). Great that this 95 Sierra is coming back home.

    '99 c2500 Burb fun

Thanks for tip. I took a real quick pass over them this fall with some polish but haven't spent much time on them yet. Some of what's there is corrosion where I don't see much of the plating left any more, I'm guessing there's not much to do about that though? Thanks! I was surprised how...

    '99 c2500 Burb fun

A little present to the burb over the holidays: a new splitter Given that it's a 2wd, the reduced 'entry angle' doesn't worry me a whole lot :) Happy new year to you all from Louisiana. Ps for any interested, this is the LMC version + mount hardware. As best I can tell, there was never any...

96 GMC K2500 Suburban Restoration (with a couple of mods)

Well put, and true on so many levels. From the eye-watering alternatives of a modern 'burb to the clean design and genuine ability to "just do the job" without complaint, these are special vehicles. Great to hear that your 2500 is reliably up and at work again. If it hasn't happened yet ...

    '99 c2500 Burb fun

Okay all, a couple of more update photos that bring it more or less up to date with where it sits now. Tow mirrors on (with something for it to pull), washed and waxed: I still have to get those pretty orange lights hooked up on the mirrors but progress has had to take a back seat to other...

4L80e cooler line - which is the return?

    Right, 99 - thanks that’s very helpful.

4L80e cooler line - which is the return?

Hi All, Going to do a filter and flush on the c2500. I usually pull a cooler line at the radiator end to get a full flush done - ideally the return line so the incoming line can pump old fluid out and through the coolers into a pan. anyone know which of the two lines at the front is the...

    '99 c2500 Burb fun

Okay, a few more pics of what the 'burb has been put through. Got the a/c hooked back up with the new Sanden in place: Works very nicely and the system seems to be holding r134 well. Above 95F outside it struggles to cool the interior acreage and the vent temperatures are only about 65...

FOR SALE - 1991 Chevrolet V3500 Silverado Crew Cab Diesel Dually 4×4

If you spend too much time looking at the pictures (guilty), it looks like there is a lot of thick black paint over some fairly rusty looking parts under there. Probably okay but maybe not as babied as the glossy paint shows.

Rear sway bar - adco 214

On the flip side ... I hadn't been around enough 1500 Burbs or Tahoes to know that they were kind of considered standard! Interesting. I took a shot of what's underneath, there are some holes that look suspicious as to where something 'could' go but no evidence anything ever did, just some...

Rear sway bar - adco 214

Nope, no rear sway bar on this 2500 (yes on the front). And no evidence there ever was one either.

Rear sway bar - adco 214

Hi all, I'm thinking about adding a rear sway bar to the ‘99 suburban. There are a couple of options out there, and this one that is half the price and doesn’t require drilling. (Adco 214) https://www.sdtrucksprings.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=23498 even though a rear...

Up early and headed out this morning

Yes - thirsty! The '99 is great at what it does. And so is the Roadmaster actually - they still do what they were built to do and do it well. Just fewer large touch screens and worse fuel economy :)

Up early and headed out this morning

wow, I can’t say anything like that on highway with Tundra. Unloaded, flat, level and a bit of tail wind gave 19mpg at 70. Impressive.

Up early and headed out this morning

Good point - I had forgoton about that other v8 option. I hear they may be in their last year or so which is too bad. They're not made far from here (Mississippi), and they've got a good reputation.

Up early and headed out this morning

You're right about that. The wind resistance is a killer for mpg. It's always hard to compare apples-for-apples but the HiLo profile seems to gain about 2ish mpg. But like you said, it will quickly bring something under-powered to its knees if you point it at a hill :) Now since the '99 is a...
