    AC Blend door spline/tab broken

I just replaced my blend door actuator because I thought it was broken but it seems to be the tab that it attaches to the white tab it turns with two legs. I cant find the part number for it. I assume its the door. The new actuator works but the spline is not being turned. Have yall seen this...

    Gassy smell at idle

We mainly drive the truck out of town and on long road trips so I would like to get it 100%. Now that I type this I am remembering that we drove 3 to nashville at the first of the year and got 19.2 mpg and we went back again last week and got 16.5 mpg so something has clearly changed I am not...

    Gassy smell at idle

I am pretty certain fuel pressure is good. I had a local mechanic help with the fuel pump. He checked all the fuel lines and we replaced the fuel filter again when we replaced the fuel pump just in case. The smell is coming from the exhaust. I never thought about the catalytic converters going...

    Gassy smell at idle

Brand new knock sensor and wire and connector. It wasnt a GM brand one though. It wasnt the cheapest knock sensor either but I have read non GM ones suck. I am not sure about the fuel cap. I didnt think it would make a difference on older vehicles

    Gassy smell at idle

I have a 1993 5.7 and I have noticed that lately at idle and sitting at lights the smell of fuel has been getting stronger. We recently drove from Alabama to Montreal and Boston and back to Alabama for vacation over a week and right when we got back into Alabama my fuel pump started going out...

    Time to replace my compressor

Just cleaned the evaporator core. And did one last check since its about 82º and 75% humidity. I would say its cleaner than I thought. I took some purple power and a soft rag and the hose on low and got it as good as I could without tearing it up or puncturing it. Static pressure is about 96...

    Time to replace my compressor

First drive of the day drove it today to Lowes to get some bolts to reattach the wiper reservoir thats not been in the truck since I bought the truck because nothing worked (it was a multitude of switches that were bad) and todays thing is to definitely clean the evap core. its currently 79º and...

    Time to replace my compressor

what temps are you getting? I still need to clean the evap core because the accumulator gets so cold to the touch so I know the freon going through the evap is nice and cold

    Time to replace my compressor

Okay I have had enough time to give an update. Went to the beach and the heat and humidity was crazy. We don’t live far from the beach and it’s been 95% humidity here but that felt like a lot more there. I bought some manifold gauges from harbor freight yesterday because I could hear the...

What is this part?? I was replacing my broken windshield wiper switch

I am not sure if the tab even goes to this. I have been sitting here watching youtube videos and this seems right? I don’t want to put it all back together and it not actually be part of this

What is this part?? I was replacing my broken windshield wiper switch

I was replacing my windshield wiper switch and the turn signal switch and when I was putting this back in the little metal tab fell in my lap. I have no idea what it is and where is goes. Everything else I know. Where does the metal tab go? 1993 gmc sierra c1500

    Time to replace my compressor

Yes, the 1993 was originally designed for r12. took a long time to get the nasty blackened mineral oil out of the evap core. The propane that was in it left pretty much right away. I didn't need to change any fittings because someone put the adapters on when they put propane in but I put new...

    Time to replace my compressor

Forgot to mention I got the freon in the system with one of those cheapo valves that fit on the bottles. I had to because the valve I bought for the bottles wouldn’t fit onto the yellow hose on the gauges. it was for r12/r22/rxxx so I wouldn’t have been able to read it anyway with the freon in

    Time to replace my compressor

I got the HP switch wired up. Hopefully it’s never needed. The accumulator seems to be doing it’s job and the condenser too so now I need to clean the evap core I know there’s some leaves in there because I can hear them sometimes

    Time to replace my compressor

The leak was very slow. The vacuum was getting it to 29.5” of mercury and I realized after changing o rings and and retightening fittings for 4 hours that when we would vacuum the system I could take off the hoses from the fittings and it would stay at 29.5” all day. So I vacuumed it and put the...

    Time to replace my compressor

That’s what I thought! I just got it wired up. Used split loom and ran it with the stock loom so you can’t even tell I installed it! We have been chasing a leak for the last hours and we finally realized it was the gauges/hoses. I am hoping we can get it charged with these gauges slowly leaking.

    Time to replace my compressor

I had to stop today because I realized I need the washer kit for this compressor and the parts store doesnt have one on hand but will be here at 7 am tomorrow. Washer Kit The new R4 compressor doesn’t line up with the manifold like the old one did. I got some wire and split loom to wire the...

    Time to replace my compressor

I decided to just go ahead and deal with the headache of replacing everything and going r134a. I saw you mention on another post a while back responding to someone else that we need to wire in the HP switch. Well my truck didn’t have a HP switch and I have no idea where to wire one into the...
