    Daily truck pics

With the new wheels and tires. Winter is nearly here so I’m going to wait to paint the wheels until spring.

    Daily truck pics

I don't think I want to color match the wheels. I like things to be or at least look original. I'm leaning towards stripping and painting the wheels the factory color.

I noticed the weight difference when mounting them. I also felt like I could feel the extra weight when I took it around the block but that might be placebo.

I’m looking for opinions, this is my 1997 k1500. I just picked up these steel wheels with caps and rings to replace the saw blades. But I’m not 100% sold on the new look. The steel wheels have been painted a dark color close to black Should I A: keep the original saw blades? B: use these...

26 years of a slide in bed liner

I recently pulled out the GM liner from my 97 and aside from one tiny spot where the seam sealer had failed it looked near perfect. I decided to clean it and reinstall the plastic liner, only way I’d remove it again is to line x it.

The DD, the work truck, and the project

This is my first flat bed and I’m liking it. The truck is actually a ton and a half, not a regular 1ton. 157” wheelbase, 14,000lb GVW, and I’m keeping it all original. Just making it a driver. It’s all original already, 1968 only 327, sm465, rear end is a HO110 with 6.17:1 gearing.

The DD, the work truck, and the project

Updates Sold the white 97 4 door 1 ton, it had problems and I’m a single guy without kids so no need for a 4 door. The 93 has a bad 141 block, I may buy a 599 block that needs a piston. I still plan to keep and drive this one. The green 97 is going strong as my daily driver. I may keep this...

The latest edition. 95 K2500 RCLB

Score! Gotta love 1 owner trucks like this. Mine was 1 owner before me and well taken care of but with 232k miles on it, nice, but not 70k miles nice.

    97 k1500 manual transmission options

NV4500 for sure. I think you’ll need an aftermarket bellhousing to mate it to an LS.

    Possible frame damage

That’s what I was thinking too, looks like someone hooked on there and sent it a little too hard

    Basket case ‘94 K2500

Cool truck, reminds me of my 93 k2500. Mine is a project too.

    Build a hypothetical 3500HD.

Great story and cool project. 100% making me question using the 6.5l in my future plow truck. I have a 1968 c30 with the same 5/10 lug pattern and I’d like to do the same axle swap using an f450 Dana 80 and converting the front hubs to 8 lug then 10 lug. I want to do this for a few reasons...

The DD, the work truck, and the project

The 93 diesel has suffered this winter. Stupid me parked the thing 4 months ago and never really checked it over after buying it. Yesterday I went to start it and in the process I checked the coolant, which wasn’t coolant at all but actually solid ice, very very low but still ice. Then I added...

The DD, the work truck, and the project

Ok I just plugged the TPS back in and sprayed brake cleaner all around the intake manifold where the upper and lower halves come together and around the injectors as much as I could. I did not hear any indication of a vacuum leak. With the TPS plugged back in I played with it in the driveway...

The DD, the work truck, and the project

Is there a typical area where the vortec 454 usually developes a vacuum leak?

The DD, the work truck, and the project

Very possible. The previous owner replaced the injectors and FPR, I’m wondering if he did something wrong, creating a vacuum leak.

The DD, the work truck, and the project

Today I unplugged the throttle position sensor and that fixed the issues I’m having with the white truck. I have a feeling that unplugging the tps is just putting it in limp mode. Or could the tos actually be the problem? Symptoms are, rough fluctuating idle, misfire that would come and go and...

The DD, the work truck, and the project

Cleaning the battery terminals seems to have done the trick. No issues starting it yesterday for the first time after changing the fuel pump. The fuel pump sounds good now but Unfortunately the truck still has the same issue as before. When it’s cold in closed loop it runs fine but when it...

The DD, the work truck, and the project

Two things The 1500 may be having an issue with 4wd, I used it yesterday and it seemed to have a little difficulty in fully engaging the front hubs. The 3500 is having an issue where I turn the key on and nothing happens at all, no dash lights no beeps no clicks. But if I cycle the key on and...
