    Driveline Vibrations---Possible Driveshaft Issues?

I'd be looking for a bent wheel or problem with a tire before starting to replace driveline parts that are likely still good.

    Considering a 93 K2500

I need to clarify, the fuel injection changes were ref to 7.4L TBI. I don't believe the 5.7L is significantly different from earlier. They tweaked the Intake Manifolds and TBs to improve the fuel distribution and atomization during the era. 94 and 95 454's use a linear feedback EGR valve and...

    Considering a 93 K2500

IMHO You're going to be better off with a 1995 2500 with 8 lugs, unless you do no towing, then 1500 OK. 1994 and 1995 FI system is different improved than 1992-1993. Everything that was going to be fixed for that era was fixed BY 1995. 1996 Vortec new, not a good year to own vs later.

    Another header post

A true dual system should be 2.5". 3" won't help. I use Magnaflow stainless mufflers. Endless debate on X pipe but I don't think its needed on this use case. "Most of our techs agree that a street application 350 will benefit well from a header with 1 1/2" to 1 5/8" diameter primary tubes and...

"Stock" 1991 K2500 5.7L V8 fails smog with unburned gas at exhaust.

It won't run right without an O2 sensor. CAT output is not monitored. I'd begin by changing the MAP sensor and all the hoses associated. Next, the TPS throttle position sensor. These are both critical. You must replace the cannister OR block the port where it connects to the TB. Make sure...

    Temperature Sensor/Gauge

That yellow line is about what I get using a 180F thermostat. Up at least one small grad for 195F.

Correct geometry for 700r4 in a 350 carb set up

There's a release tab on the throttle sense cable to the trans. What I always did was release and pull so the cable was too short. Then manually move the throttle all the way open, which will pull the sense cable into proper position. Release tab is back by the mount.

Three projects detailed in coming posts

Been too busy to keep up here. I've completed 2 projects that I'll detail here later, and have a third coming. - Fuse added to Alternator line in place of fusible link - Windshield squirter hoses replaced with 4mm silicone hose - Swap of complete grill assy and parking lights to blackout...

Difficult to find Engine Stumble - Set Timing Connector 1995

I think I'll solder it tomorrow just so everyone can rest at ease. This was used when I changed the entire ignition system including the distributor, which was an absolute ***** to stab. The 454 TBI gets 4 deg BTDC and you won't need to check it for years. I used a long 1/4"extension and MAC...

Difficult to find Engine Stumble - Set Timing Connector 1995

I'm an Electrical Engineer with 40+ years of experience. The wire nut is absolutely fine. Alternatively, just solder it and cut it off fresh every time its needed. There is no reason whatsoever to use a whether-pak connector. This is why I added 8" of wire. Fresh cut and nutted or soldered...

    Camshaft decision help

TBI doesn't like a lot of overlap. You are dealing with a speed-density system not mass air flow. High lift is OK. Crane Cams used to make (and may still) a series called CompuCam for TBI. The other place I suggest looking is Richard Holdener's videos on YouTube. Look for videos revelant...

    Need help with ac

Lol I just went into a '95 and was able to extract quite a bit of leaves and debris from the evaporator area. If your mode door works Ok this might be worth a try. This requires removal of the glove box door, the ECM, and the blower. While the blower is out, clean the terminals where the...

    Brakes and powersteering both out

Must have low pressure. Check the fluid level first. I'm on my second PS pump and 3rd Hydroboost unit at 160Kmi. My hoses are showing some leak-through. I had a mechanic do the pump because a puller is needed. Did my own HB. If you tackle HB there's a spring clip you won't want to lose.

    Air Conditioner Wont stop running

The odds its the computer are extremely low. Could be a pinched wire. I can't recall ever finding a bad computer, but have seen some thrown at the problem. Its easy to follow the diagram, but hard to find test points you can access.

color me dyslexic, code 32 NOT 23

I've had EGR codes thrown from a partially clogged cat. It wasn't until it became fully clogged did I figure that out. To test for a clogged cat, remove the O2 sensor. If it ran bad before it will run OK with the O2 out. A mild clog will need a pressure gauge. I believe I clogged the cat...

Replacing a non airbag wheel with an airbag version - cap questions

Grant wheels are great. Try calling their customer support line. The 4 holes are the attachment points for the air bag module. If it turns out you need that, try a scrap yard or eBay. www.grantproducts.com › contact-us Toll Free: 1-800-952-6947

    Temp sensor

Whenever I do my trans cooler lines (rusty) I am planning to put in a T fitting where the fluid enters the external cooler by the radiator. That will capture the oil temp close enough.

What determines a 1 or 3 pin oil pressure sensor?

3-Pin oil pressure: One pin drives the gauge. The other two are switch contacts that run your fuel pump, supplying +12. This went bad on mine - oil into the connector. It can be another gremlin that's hard to find. Gauge was low n wobbly. ECM will Deliver power thru the FP relay for some...

    Refinishing the Black Fender Flares

Actually there's a body shop right down the road where one of the Paint Artists just restored his own ~ 1995 Sub. I'm gonna work out a plan with him to help clean up my exterior mess. I need a grille fascia and fill plate, got dents in both bumpers, lots of panel mismatch, dings, dent from...

    454 tbi with 4l85E swap into c1500 350tbi

    454 tbi with 4l85E swap into c1500 350tbi

Hooray! Hit 25 years this year and didn't have to have an emissions inspection. Had I not just installed a good Magnaflow Cat 2 years ago, I'd be giving that to the recycler. So its a free for all now with the mods, although I'm pretty happy with it after a end-to-end complete tune. The TX...

    Let’s talk VOLTAGE

I would remove, inspect, and re-install the IP cluster to see of the contacts have become intermittent. There is also a connector where the IP harness joins the ECM harness, and of course the ECM harness to ECM connectors. Any of these intermittent could do that. Ground of IP would be a good...
