350 TBI is all but done for, so....

Gotcha. So when this is all said and done, who would do the tuning? From what I've read TBI chips are hard as hell to tune and mess around with.

350 TBI is all but done for, so....

I still like the idea, but I also have to ask. If I can pick up a 5.3 for 800 or so, would that be a better idea? I feel like the LS could have more tuning options vs TBI. I'm just a little unsure of the LS swap because of the mixed reviews on how the swap went. I've seen people wire it up with...

350 TBI is all but done for, so....

I like that idea, that does sound like a solid build and would give me a really good performance truck. thanks for that Bourbon!

350 TBI is all but done for, so....

Howdy guys! After an extended vacation, mainly due to work and medical reasons, I'm back and ready to put in a ton of work on my little Silverado. So basically, this is how it goes. Be prepared, it's a lengthy post. My 350 has over 223k miles on it, and I know it's ready to give up on me. Using...

    5x5 Wheel Spacers/Adapters?

That was what I had read, and what I was more or less concerned about. As long as it would work, I got no problem using it. Just didn't wanna get something that wasn't going to work. Lol

    Two weird questions?

I'm assuming we're talking about this canister and the line feeding off of it.

    5x5 Wheel Spacers/Adapters?

So I've been searching the forums, buy/sell/trade pages, the internet, everywhere. It seems to me like 5x5 wheel spacers are hard to find for the Silverado. I've seen some for Jeeps with a 5x5 bolt pattern, but wasn't sure if it would work. Just wanting to use it to push the wheels out a tad...

    Two weird questions?

Where can I find said vapor line?

    Two weird questions?

Thanks! That's the second time I've heard that tonight, so looks like I have a culprit. I was told my EGR going bad could cause a bad exhaust/gasoline smell, so I'll see if I can snatch one off a friend of mine.

"Ol' Red" The Build of a '93 Silverado!

It's been a busy month for me personally, work has been fun with the holidays! So, small update. Radiator is fixed, truck is roadworthy again. Performed some small fixes and maintenance things here and there. Nothing special to report on. Finishing up the maintenance soon, then it's off to the...

    Two weird questions?

I'll keep it short and sweet. 1. When I turn my key to the "On" position, there's a constant ticking for about 30 seconds underneath the dash on the passenger side. When I turn the key off, same thing for 30 seconds. I don't THINK it's the blower motor because I've unplugged it and it's...

1993 Silverado, looking to do basic maintenance

So, I finally have the new radiator, the new tail lights and a third brake light ready to get put into the truck. I have the day off Friday, so this Friday I'll be installing the new parts and getting the truck inspected and tagged to be on the road. Stay tuned!

Help me with a small mistake

Turns out the radiator I got comes with the oil cooler line hook ups but doesn't have a cooler inside, it's just there to maintain flow. Which is fine with me. Lol

Help me with a small mistake

It'll just be a temporary cap off, I'll most likely end up exchanging it or buying a different one later down the road. Lol

Help me with a small mistake

Long story short, accidentally bought a radiator with no engine oil cooiler. Is there any way I can just cap off the oil cooler lines until I get the money to do the engine oil cooler delete, and would it affect the way it drives? It'll just be daily driven, no towing or anything. 5.7 TBI...

Trying to level out the Previous Owners mistake

Really? I was unaware. I'm seeing all this stuff about cranking the torsion bars up and didn't even realize I wasn't included. Lol

Trying to level out the Previous Owners mistake

I'm gonna lift, but it'll be later down the road. Since it's a 2WD it won't be anything crazy, maybe just an RC 2" Lift. I'd like to get a height sort of like the truck in your signature. Looks great!

Trying to level out the Previous Owners mistake

I'll keep it short and sweet. Just picked up a 1993 Silverado. Previous owner added a leaf to the rear but didn't do anything to the front of the truck so it has a weird uneven stance. I've read you can crank your torsion keys slightly, so more or less my question is, how much would I need to...

"Ol' Red" The Build of a '93 Silverado!

So, a little more progress. This time, with pictures! So, I went down to Dallas in an Oldsmobile to pick up a new bench seat for my truck. Now, the truck originally came with bucket seats, but I've always liked the bench seat over the bucket seats anyhow. So, first thing this morning I got to...

"Ol' Red" The Build of a '93 Silverado!

I didn't really do much today aside from basic maintenance. I was able to snatch up a new window regulator and motor attached to the internal door panel or whatever you want to call it. Bolted in pretty easily, minus a track issue I was having. Got all my switches working correctly, including my...

"Ol' Red" The Build of a '93 Silverado!

So, after doing a little research and getting some helpful advice, I decided to go ahead and get a new fuel filter to see if I could fix the hesitation in throttle. After about half an hour and a few ounces of gas in the face, the new fuel filter was on and the truck was running better than...

"Ol' Red" The Build of a '93 Silverado!

So welcome to the beginning of what I'm hoping to be an extensive write up of my build into this little Silverado I picked up. I've been wanting something that had some fixing needed and I finally came across it, which came in the form of a 1993 Chevy Silverado with a 5.7L TBI 350. It's an...

    Replacing lock cylinders 1993 Silverado

Just recently picked up my 93 Silverado as a project truck. Previous owner lost the keys to the door. I picked up new lock cylinders with keys, just need to know what it's gonna take to replace these things. Local locksmith wouldn't do it, told me to take it to a body shop. Lol yeah right. Tried...

1993 Silverado, looking to do basic maintenance

So I drove it for about 20 minutes today and it ran pretty well. Started to overheat, come to find out I have a cracked radiator. So, I'll add that to my list of fixes. Checked the trans fluid and it's reading full, however it's a very light color pink. Also got my first engine code today as...
