Honestly, all 400s look good with a valance...that's why GM put them on there, they are an aesthetic that looks good and helps with wind resistance. There are some exceptions

However, the majority of the time I say these trucks absolutely need the Valance! No, it doesn't make them look shorter, I couldn't even imagine what mine would look like without it. If you are slamming your truck, and want a really low stance, obviously no valance, but 99.9999999% of the time you gotta have it!

I say that unless the truck is HEAVILY modified, like SAS's, prerunner glass, strip-only dragster, or other "hardcore" build, then the valence is a must. A truck without one just looks run down. If it's got an aftermarket bumper, like those NBS Silverado SS bumpers, then it's a different story, but anything with a stock or near-stock bumper should have the valence.

I think they look horrible painted though. I'd rather see no valence than a color matched valence.

I don't mind either. Mine came off in a snow bank and I wasn't about to buy a new one.

If that doesn't matter to a guy, rip it off or leave it on depending on preference....
