I now have a spare 2wd fully splined output shaft to sell. Ordered a new one originally to make sure and have one to cut down, but this transmission came with one already.

Inspected everything and sorted. Waiting on couple of more orders to get here. I have some stock parts to get rid of. Decided to give up on trying to resurface the pump. I have the set up to get it, but as crucial the component is, ordered a reman from transtar. It was not even bad by feel, but going on the safe side as too many costly hard parts are in use. I will be reusing my currently installed valve body(sonnax rebuild with overrun modification) instead of this one, but still will go over it as the plan to change valve bodies between transmissions and sell currently in use transmission complete.

Following are the pieces for sale:
good forward hub
direct drum
pump assembly
front shaft
main shaft
2wd output shaft and tail housing

I have somewhat of collection on 4l80e information. Went ahead and stuck it on google drive as one zip file if anybody else gets bored to go through it.

OP, any updates on the build? I've got a few of these units laying around. I was going to use this thread as motivation to tear into them...;)

(not a "build" though, just a "rebuild" for me, joke :D)

Nice! I did a Transmission Bench master overhaul rebuild kit that came with like 8 hours of video. I highly recommend it if it's your first build.

That looks like a 2wd... I'm assuming you are going to convert your output shaft to a 4x4?

Will be watching this thread!
I was thinking about doing the same thing myself. Nothing is better than a physical copy of references to in depth and visual examples of what is involved in these overhauls. Most people who’ve tried it have had success. Not everyone ends up on precision transmissions autopsy table lol. Been studying a lot of his tear downs for diagnosing problems
