    Tuning on a stock truck

I've got a 99 ccsb 2500 5.7, 4L80E with 3:73 gears. I daily drive it sometimes but mostly it's for hauling 6-7k lbs roughly. The only mods are cats deleted into 3" exhaust with a flow master on it. I made the non fouler foolers for the rear 02's but now that the egr valve went out too I'm...

2500 crewcab with 350 heavy towing

We were intending on selling this and buying a late model diesel, the better half wants a mega cab and I won't own an automatic dodge so we were looking at $30k + for a truck with decent miles and that's not in the cards with our other needs right now.. This truck does have 3:73 gears, 99% of...

    Removing cats on a 99 2500

I forgot to ever get back to this thread, for over a month now I've been running drilled out non-foulers with no cats and still haven't had a check engine light!

2500 crewcab with 350 heavy towing

We decided to go ahead and sell the old girl and step up to a modern diesel, the hills seem to work it awful hard and I don't like the idea of spinning a 200k mile motor at 5k rpm for the entire length of them to keep decent speed. Plus when we were left stranded last Friday pulling my jeep on...

2500 crewcab with 350 heavy towing

What type of fuel economy do you guys get towing? I pulled the cats and have it simulated so no check engine light and it all seems to run well but this thing is just a horrible pig on gas!! We averaged 6.5 mpg pulling a 4k lb jeep on a 2k lb trailer through a mix of hills and flat ground 99%...

2500 crewcab with 350 heavy towing

I was wondering about actual weight on the camper, my buddy just bought a ten footer we put on a 28 foot goose and the tag said 1,800lbs full of water, propane and 75lbs of ice in the fridge is where my guesstimate came from on weight.

2500 crewcab with 350 heavy towing

I'm surprised also at the 3:73's, I think that I'm going to just use the gooseneck and wait on the camper until I can get a bigger truck to handle it easily. So far I love this truck and plan on keeping it after I get a diesel since it's paid off.

2500 crewcab with 350 heavy towing

No sir, it's an 8 lug heavier 2500 gvwr with the 4l80E. It's got the big brakes and they are all new on it also.

2500 crewcab with 350 heavy towing

I've got a 99 2500 with the 350 in it and right at 200k on the clock. I'm hoping it will Be able to handle the task at hand for at least a year until we can get another one ton diesel but we're trying to pay our other vehicles off first and this was cheap and paid cash for it. It has the big...

    Air Conditioning Problems?

I wasn't really sure where to post this but since it's under the hood I put it here. If their is a better section feel free to move mods! I've only owned my 99 crew 2500 with the 350 for a little over a month now, when I got it the ac didn't work so I jumped the compressor switch on the...

The hitch or actual trailer? I have a home built hitch in my truck that you can unscrew the ball from and a 26 foot low boy goose that I'm going to put a camper on the front and my jeep on the back.

    Removing cats on a 99 2500

The tunes aren't that bad no but with new tires all around on the truck this weekend, two on the wife's car and 4 on the trailer before our trip in two weeks it's a little out of the budget until the play money gets built back up. I was just hoping to have a fast cheap solution before dragging...

    Removing cats on a 99 2500

That's a good idea on the mini cat, worth trying at least for sure. I figured it might help me get some milage back after removing them. I just can't stand a check engine light and don't wanna have it on but custom tunes aren't in the budget for a couple months yet.
