Okay guys I'm putting a cam in my 1996 gmc k1500 with the 350 L31, does ANNYONE know how much you need to machine off the guides to run a bigger cam???? Cam is .471 intake .502 exhaust. Yes I'm doing screw in studs and valve springs just need to no how much to take off the guides! Thanks!

Any one put a cam in their 96+ gm? looking to put a cam in, would like to get some what of a thumpy idle, already have a higher stall torque converter and machining heads isn't a problem for me either. lemme no what you got and opinions welcome to! hopefully someone actually has some engine work...
i would check codes, check fuel pressure, timing is done by the computer starting in 96 and you cant really "adjust" it, you need a tech 2 (might be able to use other snap on scanners or so but not sure) you can get a lot of info with a good scanner, check out 02 sensors and maf too

alright so im hearing/reading a lot about these conversions and I wanted to know basically why people do it and all. are the injectors in the mpfi still poppet style? what all needs to be done when you swap it? any updates on computer or is it just R&R the whole assembly and your ready to go?
I wanna do long tubes and then ill make my own exhaust so I don't care about the y pipe and stuff, gona do true duals. whats the fitment issue? tight fit between the steering shaft or what? I do have a body lift so my engine sits lower than everything else::
