You're going to have to fab a mount of some sort, so just do it however you prefer.

Changes from 98 to the 99- 02 years

So.. here is the basic breakdown.. GMT 400 production ran until: 1500 trucks: 1998 2500 trucks: 1999 3500 trucks: 2000 (except as noted there were actually a few after this) Suburban: 1999 Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade: 2000 I've seen Escalades listed for sale that were 2001 and OBS, but I have no idea...

How to paint a chrome bumper?

The easy method I've found (which has the added benefit of being reversible) is to shoot the chrome with plastidip, and then lay your color over the plastidip. This lasted for about 2.5 years on my NBS Tahoe. The bumper needs to be redone now, but the grill still looks pretty good.
