How much clearance is there behind the mounting surface?
Not sure if installing a unit with cd might be too deep.
If anyone knows I'd appreciate a heads up.
Thanks
My transmission started slipping 6 months ago. Low on fluid. Lost D and OD.
Had a friend rebuild for $2200. What he found was someone unbeknownst to me had installed wrong filter and siliconed the gasket. Caused fluid blow-by.
Funny thing is I've owned since new and never had transmission...
I appreciate everyone's replies here. Very helpful and informative.
I was referring to Google searches themselves, weeding thru the ads and irrelevant results.
The reference to the suv throws me for a loop.
...so your saying the 1988 pick-up and jimmy dont share the same platform.
I was hoping to mount a push bar intended for
1988 GMC Jimmy to a 1998 K1500 Silverado extended cab.
I thought the 88-98 gm shared the same frame for a direct fit.
Ive been draggin that bar around for over 10 years.
Had a brain wave when clearing out my garage, guess it was a fart. lol
I am planning the same conversion, chevy to gmc grill on my 98 Silverado Z71 ext cab. I dont believe its a direct fit, may need extra filler around headlights.
I think the gm grill looks better.
...also going to install a bull bar that I bought for a my 88 gmc jimmy and never installed, hoping...
