4l80e hard shift from 2-3 gear.

Update after a long while: I've been very busy and haven't really had anytime to do anything on the truck. Issue is still there but not as bad as it was. Sometimes it shifts nice, othertimes you notice when it shifts into third. Same issue for 4th and OD though. Sometimes it shifts into 4th so...

    Warbled out leaf spring hole

Thanks for the ideas guys. I could try fill welding it like Kenny said, I do feel like that would be stronger than a washer too. I would like to avoid removing the bracket if at all possible. Drilling it out wider and sleeving it is also a good idea. I could find a tube with the proper ID to...

    Warbled out leaf spring hole

So back in 1999, my truck was fitted with aluminum side steps by the dealer (according to the original owner). The side steps mount to the frame at three points one of them being the leaf spring mount point. Since 1999, there has been NO nut holding the leaf spring bolt... uh oh. Because of...

    GMT 400 Hydroboost swap

I'd be fine doing a NBS master and just replacing the hydroboost when it finally goes. Only issue I'm seeing is people saying that the NBS master won't work with the OBS HB (hydroboost). Although I do know that the OBS master will work just fine on a NBS HB. I've also noticed that the acdelco...

    GMT 400 Hydroboost swap

How's that working out for you? As my truck sits right now with the factory HB, if one hits the pedal with some authority, that thing will plant you against the windshield. Only issue I have is the play in the pedal before it actually gets firm.

    GMT 400 Hydroboost swap

So instead of modifying the rod, you swapped in the assembly where the rod is housed? interesting, i'll have to see how that works whenever I go to the junk yard. What MC did you use? I have read that the rear disc/drum trucks have different masters? Or is there just an additional valve on the...

    GMT 400 Hydroboost swap

Yes the piston is a different size, but I was planning on swapping the entire unit anyway since my hydroboost unit is leaking drops of power steering fluid inside the truck by the pedal rod. Speaking of, is the OBS hydroboost rod the same length as the NBS rod? I know that the obs vacuum to nbs...

    GMT 400 Hydroboost swap

Does anyone know about swapping from the OBS hydroboost to the NBS hydroboost? I have a k2500 with the factory hydroboost but would like the better pedal feel of the newer unit.

    12200411 PCM swap for 1996 to 2000 GMT400 trucks

I always like to use and promote open source software. I was turned off by the cost and confusion of using the big name tuner programs (still don't understand the credit or license thing), but this combination of open source tuning software could be great for the modding community and people who...

    12200411 PCM swap for 1996 to 2000 GMT400 trucks

Based on my research lsdroid itself doesn't have the abilities to modify files, but can read and write just fine. It seems the guys using it use tuner pro to modify bins and then flash them with ls droid.

    12200411 PCM swap for 1996 to 2000 GMT400 trucks

I downloaded the app just out of curiosity. I'm not an expert in tuning by any means, so hopefully someone experienced with tuning will chime in. It seems like it should work fine since it supports the p01/411 pcm. If one is just flashing a bin file I feel lile the engine wouldn't matter as long...

    12200411 PCM swap for 1996 to 2000 GMT400 trucks

Has anyone here ever heard of "LS droid"? Supposedly it is free to use (open source) and works off one's phone. I wonder if it is compatible with the 411 swap? http://www.ls-droid.com/...

    Stretched VW Vanagon on GMT400?

I don't think so, 8 lug SF and FF should remain width the same whether in 2wd or 4wd configs. I think the 2wd 1500s only have a varying width because 2wd is a 10 bolt and 4wd should be the 14 bolt SF. This will also vary on engine choices too as I believe the BBC and diesel are always 14 bolt FF...

    Stretched VW Vanagon on GMT400?

Given that they are the same, I can only assume that the Chevy was measured from wheel to wheel, while the GMC may have been measured from something like wheel flares, side mirrors, side steps, etc.
