Update. I can make the coil fire if I take the sensor out and take a screwdriver and pass it across the sensor the coil fires every time I do that. When I install the sensor it doesn't fire.
Since the original sensor was damaged, how likely is the gear butchered bad enough not to work?

Sorry to hijack the thread, but maybe we will all figure this out together.
I replaced the crank sensor, and hooked up a scanner and am getting rpm, and spark, and it coughs a bit now. I am waiting for the snow to melt because it's outside and it snows in March and April and May sometimes June...
I bought a 2004 Sierra 2500 to use the 6L as a ls swap into my Yukon. The hydro boost seems to have another part under the drivers seat bolted to the side rail. Looks like that may be the ABS unit. Anybody know for sure?
I am in the same boat with my Yukon. It died while on the freeway. Just like it shut off. I suspected the distributor because it is new Chineseium. I have 50 ish pounds of fuel pressure, new fuel pump. Replaced dist. no difference. New module, new coil. new plugs. No RPM on tach while...
I don't know if I have room to reach the port and get the hose in the crack of the hood, then drive down the road at a hundred. I did just change the fuel pump with the finest Chinese delphi one, and it seems to be fine that way.
Also, the tail pipe is pretty black.
I had this almost exact thing happening to my Yukon. Do you still have the stock plastic distributor? I replaced mine with a Summit Racing one and the stumble at cruising is gone.
The gear on the original one was sharp and pointy like a knife edge, not square like new. I went under the hood...
When I flog the old girl around a hundred miles an hour, foot to the floor, I am getting two codes for O2 sensors under voltage. No codes ever if I drive normal.
Hey, just wondering if you still monitor this thread. You sound like you know exactly how this system works. Thanks for the info, and hope you are still on here helping people.
