If your going to do the intake gaskets then i would consider getting the upgraded mpfi injector setup and doing it at the same time.

LMAO this is how it goes with me too. Spent 2 hrs making sure i didnt drop a screw in the intake, only to find it was on the ground after decided to roll the truck out of the way.

The question you should be asking yourself is if you should spend that money on a v8. I would take the opportunity to upgrade it to the 350. Shouls be able to get one for the same price and the swap is really fairly simple.

I have a 88 as well but is a 2wd going lowered with a 5.3l. I will be following though to see what you do with your interior cause im undecided on mine. Only crappy picture i have of mine on my phone. Ive been with this truck since i was 2 yrs old

They probably made those holes to ensurr the bondo would stay in place. Its a **** job for sure. That panel will have to be replaced. If you tried to repair it, it would just become a wavy and warped mess.
